After the Earthquake: EAR-AER Organises Seminar About Opportunities for the European Construction Sector in Albania with the Albanian Minister of Reconstruction Mr. Arben Ahmetaj as Keynote Speaker.
On November 26, 2019, the Durres-Tirana corridor in Albania was hit by a major earthquake of 6.4 on the Richter scale. Thousands of homes have become uninhabitable, but also schools, hotels and various public buildings. To date, more than 40,000 buildings have been inspected for structural damage and the counter is continuing.
A donor conference will take place on 17 February 2020, co-organized by the European Union to help finance the reconstruction. The technology, know-how, building techniques, building materials from European companies and engineering offices are certainly eligible because time will be an important factor in the reconstruction. Prefab solutions for homes, multi-family homes, apartment buildings, schools and other types of businesses can be obvious answers to the urgency of the situation. There are also road works, infrastructure and public space that go hand in hand with urban development. Albania will be an ambitious open site in the coming months.
In cooperation with Voka Flanders’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Flanders’ Confederation of Construction professions, EAR-AER is organizing a seminar close to Brussels to study the possibilities for the European construction sector for the reconstruction of Albania with the Albanian Minister of Reconstruction Mr. Arben Ahmetaj as Keynote Speaker.
