The agenda included reports on past events, such as the educational workshop within the “Smart4Nature: Education and Technology for Environmental Protection“ Project, 9-11 May 2025, Colibita, Bistrita, Romania.
The upcoming activities of EAR-AER for fall 2025 and spring 2026 foresee:
- “Smart4Nature” kick-off conference, Vama Buzaului, Romania, 29 August 2025,
- FoRLED 2025-the 7th Western Balkans+ Regional and Local Economic Development Forum, Vlore 4-7 December 2025;
- “Women Entrepreneurship” conference in Kragujevac Municipality, Serbia, 25th February – 1st March 2026.
Other topics of discussion were the book about the first 12 years of EAR-AER, the organisation of a summer school for regional development, restarting the “Coffee of the Regions” events in Brussels with regional offices, financial opportunities offered by European Funds, membership fee, donations, financial report for 2025 and proposal for the budget 2026 as a new request for subsidies from the Government of Flanders.
PhD. Ilona Miklos was introduced as a new academic member to our board members and contributed to a debate on how to involve our professors more actively in Academy events. (Next meeting: 28th October).
