Dr. Paul Rübig, Member of the EESC, Former MEP and President of the SME Water Group, was invited to the EAR-AER board of directors’ meeting to present his book “Emergency Preparedness” and discuss “How to ensure the sustainable management of Europe’s water resources and placing water higher on the European political agenda?”.
Dr. Rübig delivered a captivating presentation on the importance of sustainable water management in all its aspects, highlighting the urgent measures and efforts that Europe must undertake. He addressed not only groundwater extraction and seawater utilization, but also wastewater treatment and reuse. These also require efforts at the regional and local levels, and the principle of public interest must be prioritized with the necessary sense of urgency.
