Our president Nelu Neacsu participated in the online event Socio-political standards at risk? – The EU Commission’s policy on “bureaucracy and administrative burdens“ organized by the Brussels offices of the Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK EUROPA) and the Austrian Trade Union Confederation (ÖGB | Österreichischer Gewerkschaftsbund).
For many years, business representatives in particular have been complaining about excessive red-tape. Employee representatives and non-governmental organisations, on the other hand, criticise that the objectives set out in the ‘Better Regulation’ agenda are merely intended to legitimise the deletion and dilution of socio-political, which provide standards high benefits for the population.
Speakers:
MEP Evelyn Regner, Member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, European Parliament, S&D
Isabelle Schömann, Deputy General Secretary, European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC)
Sophia Zakari, Director Enterprise & Legal Affairs, SME United
Kenneth Haar, Researcher & Campaigner, Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO)
The Vienna Chamber of Labour has therefore commissioned a study on “Better Regulation under Commission President von der Leyen”, which deals with the issue of bureaucracy and administrative burdens. Reducing these has been a key objective of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for five years. The results of the study were presented and discussed at the event.
